Two packages came in the mail today [05 Jan 2009|06:19pm]

They looked to be CD/DVD's. I opened the first one and it contained "The Cry of Love" on CD. I didn't recall ordering it but I needed it for my Hendrix collection. The second one contained the DVD of Jimi performing July 4, 1970 at the Atlanta Pop Festival. I was at that concert, held in a big field near Byron, GA. Now, I remember.

Guess what I'll be doing tonight?

Today's the day of Jimi's death. Let's remember him as he was really God's Angel on our Earth. In spite of all, he was light and wise. He deserved to be remembered forever.

Rest in peace, sweet Angel...

Hey I have a favor to ask

My boyfriend saw a ring at the EMP's Hendrix exhibition and described it as a silver peace sign held by a leather band. I want to make this for him for our anniversary but I can't find an image of it ANYWHERE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More praise and thoughts about a man that died too soon [21 May 2008|03:44pm]

Recently I haven't had the time I would like to have to do more research on Hendrix. I admit lately I've been kind of outta touch with the things that I love. A while back I wrote a poem and I would kind of like to know what people think about it.  It's called Peace Man. I was trying to capture not only the feel of Jimi but also the sound.

Peace Man

Hey baby I got a story to tell
of a man with a message
                                    oh soooo sweet...

             With hippie flowers
                      and midnight hours
                           NO  bullet showers
baby I know you get me

This man he didn't like the state divided
so he hopped on his rainbow and oh how the notes glided
                                      Baby just listen to me

He rode the stars down to the stage
He broke out of his cage

You know what his message was
Baby we all got to be free

I'm curious to know what you think. I thought this would be an awesome place to post it. Also, please please don't steal this poem. I worked very hard on it.

[ mood | blah ]

Does anyone know anything about the recent Jimi Hendrix sex tape that was discovered. If so does anyone have any opinions on it? I would be interested to know what everyone thinks about it. I don't mean how it is frankly I don't care. I'm not THAT much of a groupie anymore. What I mean is as far as the principles and ethical implications. Just Curious.

Annoyance [02 Aug 2007|01:22pm]

I'm getting so tired of people on youtube. Somehow the following of music has turned into a reason to disrespect legends. It's a constant battle as to who is "better". People are bashing each others opinions on videos meant as tributes. Yes, I understand that not everyone likes Hendrix however, I believe that everyone should at least offer the proper amount of respect. This name calling bs is stupid. Since when did music become a contest for who could bring more shame to the rock community?
Every legend is a legend for a particular reason. It is impossible to compare them and say one is better than the other. It's perfectly fine to argue your opinion however, it's not fair to say that you are right and someone else is wrong simply because you don't like the artist. Yeah granted we're all somewhat elitist at some point but, there is no need to call names. I think it's about time for some bands to go back to the roots blues, jazz. The raw emotion that makes rock what it is.

you know what I heard? I heard that before Jimi died, Miles Davis was going to get him to play with his group. Wouldn't that've been interesting?
Just thought I'd share that.

Has anybody else read Jimi Hendrix: The Intimate Story of a Betrayed Musical Legend by Sharon Lawrence? This is the first book I've read by her, and I can't wait to read Jimi Hendrix: The Man, the Magic, the Truth by her as well. Has anyone else read anything by her or know anything about her?

Well my name is Kim, I am 16 and I come from Europe.
So, my dad has been a great Jimi fan, and of course, he passed that on me...
So I have been living with Jimi since I was born.
I started playing guitar when I was 4.
At home we have 9 guitars.
I really think Jimmy was and he still is a symbol of guitar.
Everybody say HENDRIX IS THE KING

hendrix movie [29 Mar 2006|10:09pm]

Who here has heared about the new possible jimi hendrix movie, thats supposebly set to star lenny kravits as the legend that is hendrix?
please post any known info, or opinions on kravits playing the role.

My opinion : Kravits.....first of all he cares more about his image then he does the music. He plays a right hand guitar as oppose to hendrix's lefty. HIs acting could possibly be really fkn tereible. lols. I basically do not like the guy. I mean cmon dude kravits to play the legendary hendrix. TOtally not worthy. I cant imagine him playin the role at all.
I heared andre 3000 was a possiblity to play hendrix, i reckon he would of been so much better than kravits he reallylooked like him and seemed like the guy capable of displaying the same sort of soul power jimi did.Not that he could play a mean guitar. But he could probably pull of the acting a hell of alot better. Andre was a guy who i could definitly see playing the role. what a shame.
